Eve University
Perfidus. Improbus. Saccularious.
I never really understood until this week why someone could despise a teaching organization. Now after having heard people describe EVE University in this way I think I can understand why some people, like Poetic Stanziel, have a bit of hard on for them.
There has already been a lot of controversy surrounding EVE University in recent months. The most glaring example being the “dec shield”, which involved EVE University CEO and CCP in discussions over what CCP can do to help EVE University. EVE University was pushing to have wardecs cost exponentially higher then they are currently, effectively giving EVE U. wardec immunity.
So what is this all about? Is this yet another rant against EVE University with nothing to back it up? This is about killboards and the sources are below if you want to check and come to your own view on what is said here.
Killboards
Most players in EVE know what they are and most players trust their accuracy. In what can only be described as a low move the eve university killboard has been shown to have become somewhat less than truthful in the way the EVE University killboard works.
With the addition of fake kills and fake items, admitted and sanctioned by the EVE University CEO, many former EVE University graduates have expressed dismay, disappointment and disgust at this blatant killboards tampering.

In my opinion the kill should be purged and credit given where credit due. If the guy beat the Uni in a war, fair enough, good for him.
The comments by Zeroniss are especially important as EVE University has been seen by many, including me, as being honest and trustworthy. Sadly with this action can you trust them at all?

How does this killboard tampering work?
Well for some reason many in EVE University seem to think that the costs of declaring a war against them should be added to their killboard stats. This cost is now one billion ISK a week after :ccp: sanctioned the “dec shield” of EVE University after players found out that EVE University had been skirting this exploit for over four months without any form of punishment (and with the support of CCP if the reports of the fanfest discussions are to be believed).
The addition of a new item, a wardec, had found its way into some fake kills and this had skewed the war efficiency of eve university’s war to make it look like they were winning when in fact the actual record was 5.73 billion in losses to 0.48 billion in kills, a rather poor under 10% efficiency. This efficiency is worse as, in eve university’s own words, this is a faildec from a “one man and his alt” corp.
The curious case of the disappearing campaign? After the loss of a nightmare made even the wardec tampering not enough to take eve university into a winning position the campaign was removed from eve university’s killboard.
This tampering is actually repeated in most if not all of eve universities campaign records and this is another example of dishonesty from eve university.
It is hard to write a conclusion for this: fake mails, fake items, fake stats, fake numbers on their wiki for previous wardecs all mean that anything said about wars by the eve university ceo has to be taken with a rather large pinch of salt. It is sad to see just how far eve university has fallen from the ideals it was founded on. With the defeat it has suffered against a one man corp I can see why eve university is pushing for massive wardec cost increases as these one man war’s are just too much for them unless they turtle up or blob up.
