Primer: The Current Political Map
Deklein Coaltion / Goons
Members – Goonswarm Federation, Fatal Ascension, Get Off My Lawn, Razer Alliance, Gentlemen’s Agreement, Fidelas Constans, Tactical Narcotics, SpaceMonkey’s Alliance, Convicted
Goons are currently winding down a campaign in Branch against White Noise. There had been expectation that Raiden would enter the conflict, but did not. Currently, the border between Goons and Raiden is an uneasy one, with little more than casual roams breaching that border. Goons are currently involved in redistributing territory after the rapid gain of the Branch region. Goons have blue standings with Test Alliance and their pets as well as xDeath. This alliance has created a “the friend of my friend” domino effect which has brought an uneasy peace to the north for the time being.
Honey Badgers
Members – Test Alliance, Northern Coalition, Pandemic Legion
It seems what had initially been little more than a loose alliance to drum up some PVP has continued to mature into a more stable coalition. Though these three alliances have blue standings with each other, they do not share standings, as is common with a power bloc. The standings do not currently extend to friends of friends, but have created unofficial “don’t rock the boat by shooting x,y,z” rules while the diplomats and leaders continue to hash out whether this will become a coalition in its own right. Currently, this seems to have created an uneasy peace in the north as Goons are friends of Test Alliance while Raiden are friends of Northern Coaltion and Pandemic Legion. Honey Badgers seem to be deployed against SOLAR in support of xDeath currently.
SOLAR INC
Members – SOLAR FLEET, Intrepid Crossing, White Noise
In the aftermath of the breakup of DRF, loyalties in the East divided between SOLAR and xDeath. The feud grew in scope into an outright sov war. Several alliances had held blue standings with SOLAR, but their support eroded as additional fronts opened up against them. A long time friendship between leaders in Goons and leaders in xDeath led to the war unbalancing as Goons pressed an internally weakened White Noise who were also already engaged in both the south (in support of Red Arrow) as well as in the east. Short serious political maneuvering, this bloc is not expected to last much longer.
XIX / Legion of xXDeathXx
Members – Legion of xDeath, Shadow of xDeath, Bloodbound, Voodoo Tech
The cornerstone of the old DRF. There are whispers that negotiations between xDeath and Goons led to the breakup of the DRF, as new lines of influence were drawn on the map, but little is known for sure. It is theorized that xDeath still holds blue standings with Raiden, NCdot, and Pandemic Legion. The appearance of NCdot and PL fleets against SOLAR seems to support that. Where Raiden sits currently seems to be an unknown, as they are in an untenable situation – blue to people who are blue to people happy to shoot them.
Red Arrow / Southern Comfort
Members – Red Alliance, RED Citizens, Controlled Chaos, RED.Legion
Red Arrow had been putting the hurt on A-team, when it was supported by the DRF and PL. As the DRF fell apart, the fortunes of the war in the south shifted. For a time, the Honey Badger coalition had supported Red Arrow against A-Team, stabilizing the war into a stalemate for a time. With Honey Badgers in the east now, it will be interesting to see what happens in the southern war. It will likely only be a matter of how long SOLAR lasts before both power blocs focus on A-Team again, short a diplomatic solution. However, it seems that Red Arrow has begun shooting SOLAR (based on battles like this).
The -A-Team
Members – Against All Authorities, RED.OverLord
A-Team has been putting up a year long defense against Red Arrow. The war has swung both ways, with Red Arrow wining at times and A-Team winning at times. The war seems to heavily hing on the inclusion of third parties – with Romanian Legion and Nulli supporting A-Team and DRF/PL supporting Red Arrow. However, recent disputes between Nulli and RL at the same time as Red Arrow’s support being focused on SOLAR currently may have removed all outside influences for the time being.
General Overview
The East is where the bulk of the action is at right now, with xDeath and SOLAR going at it in fairly epic battles. The North is in an uneasy, politically motivated, Mexican standoff. The South is in a stalemate. The West is unified. There will be quite a bit of large scale fleet action for the foreseeable future, how big these wars and battles become seems to depend entirely on what transpires between Goonswarm Federation and Raiden. The two have been arch enemies for multiple iterations of their alliances and years of game play. If they escalate, Eve will divide politically and we are likely to see another Great War.
