View: The War in the North and what is to come (Part 2)

Part 2 of this series dedicated to the Northern War will analyze some data disclosed by The Mittani in his CEO Update addressed to the GSF coalition. I will also present some exclusive information supplied by one of the high level FCs of GSF. When a senior FC makes public statements of such strategic significance this means that either GSF believes itself to be invincible, or that person simply became largely overconfident regarding the power of his alliance or coalition. Since the purpose of this article is to present data in an objective manner, I will simply present the facts combined with some personal comments and observations.

For the first time we have a public announcement from The Mittani that he plans indeed to invade Tenal. Even though this has been presented in my previous article, now there is an official statement from the leader of the GSF stating it. Most of you will probably say that this is old news and that was obvious anyway. Well, wait to see what’s next. The vision of at least one of the main FCs of GSF is that as soon as Tenal will be “pacified”, the next in line is Tribute. However, to give proper credit to the one that stated this, I will further present the two options that the GSF is considering regarding Tribute.

Option 1: Tribute will fall as soon as Tenal will be over. We will launch a full scale assault on Tribute in March if NC DOT are stupid enough to side with RAIDEN. We plan on integrating some of the corporations member of RAIDEN and of NC DOT, as one of the estimations made by our Military Team lead us to believe that both RAIDEN and NC DOT will disband once evicted from their currently occupied space. We saw it happen in the past with BoB and IT Alliance.

Option 2: We will allow NC DOT to keep Tribute in exchange for their neutrality but we will not allow them to keep most of their current Technetium moons. We will of course leave to them some resources as to have the means to pay their sov bills. Everything depends on what position they will adopt when we will be invading Tenal.” (Quoted from a public discussion on Goon Jabber from one of their FCs). I will not disclose for now the name of that FC as this may compromise the identity of my source since the number of people present to that discussion was not that big according to what I was told.

Now some personal comments and observations:

1) Tribute is essential to establish a connecting route for Branch/Tenal/Venal. All these three regions inhabitants need to pass through Tribute in order to reach the Empire. Therefore it makes sense that Tribute needs to be blue and secured as otherwise the routes to and from Empire are severed.

2) The statements above are showing a great confidence in the GSF forces that is reflected in the statement issued by The Mittani where he clearly indicates that GSF mustered numbers “in excess of 1600 pilots in active fleets that conquered Branch”.

The overall feeling that Mittani conveys is that GSF is invincible with such numbers. Those that are not bowing now, will eventually bow later when:

“their dicks will be chopped off by Mister Vee and the other GSF Eurotime FCs”. (quote from The Mittani – CEO Update).

The Mittani made another astonishing statement showing that:

“the CSM can wield a frightening level of influence if someone of sound mind and a knack for political manipulation is in charge.”… “I will once again be running for the Chairmanship, and we will be fully mobilizing to ensure that the voice of the people (ie, our people, and everyone of like mind to us) is heard”. (Quote from the Mittani – CEO Update).

While we can not deny that the CSM had a positive influence on the decisions that led to so many improvements of the game, The Mittani starts claiming here that all merits for the positive changes were practically his alone. He further states and admits that he manipulated and will continue to politically manipulate the CSM in order to reach what he believes to be his agenda for the future development of the game. There is no wrong doing in believing in something and trying to make it happen but it is immoral to use political manipulation from your public position of Chairman of the CSM in order to reach your goals and those of your followers. It is ok to represent your own people that may elect you to the CSM but publicly admitting that you intend to use your possible new position of Chairman of the CSM in order to “politically manipulate” and push for decisions that may benefit only “your people”, is again very wrong. So, now there are the Goons as the new overlords of Eve that intend not only to make their stand on the battlefield, but to “politically manipulate” the CSM in order to reach their objectives. It is an incredible display of arrogance and moral turpitude that we can all see here.

My position regarding this matter is triggered by a legitimate indignation that every honest player should feel when such public statements of open “political manipulation” are made. If the statement would have been made by someone from PL, NC DOT, WN, RAIDEN, or from any other alliance in game, I would have said exactly the same things. If Mittani so proudly presents his skills of political manipulator of all Eve, I am wondering where does political manipulation stops when he affirms his intentions towards his allies or potential allies. Because someone that makes such statements can not be trusted in general in real life or in game. Today I may be his best friend because he has the interest in making me believe this but tomorrow he may even not answer my phone calls. In fact, I can not stop asking myself what will happen to those that were installed in Branch during these last days. Because their alliances are in no way able to oppose by themselves to any of their current enemies (RAIDEN and EVOKE for now). When RAIDEN will reinforce for the tenth time their towers or systems, what will happen if GSF will not show to defend them anymore? Perhaps at that time Mittani will simply state that if they are not able to defend themselves then too bad for them. I guess we all remember that this is exactly how GSF behaved in relation to the former Northern Coalition.

GSF pushed all those smaller allies to Branch and that feat required some effort to get them installed there. What will happen when they will come under constant attack? We all know that defensive warfare is exhausting and none of those alliances have great PVP records. All of them dream today of new ratting systems and new farming grounds. But what if those farming grounds are suddenly under constant pressure from your enemies? Because political manipulation has its limits after all. Perhaps Mittani opened here the Pandora box that he may very well have wanted to keep well locked and closed. To want to politically manipulate people is one thing but to openly state such thing in public is wrong on so many levels.

And now the last quote that basically sustains all the above presented data and arguments:

“EVE will learn that when Goonswarm wins a war, the celebration will be the suffering of absolutely everyone else.” (The Mittani – CEO of Goonswarm Federation).

I will not comment on it as I will let each one of you to draw your own conclusions. Perhaps GSF went too far in insulting all those that are not bowing to their new position and power. Below you can find the full CEO Update issued by the Mittani to the GSF Coalition.
